Terms of Service
The rules and policies governing spot allocation, permanent placement, dynamic rank movement, and community standards on the open WP Spots board.
1. The Spot Model & Lifetime Placement
WP Spots operates an open visual mosaic grid and ranked discovery board for products and services in the WordPress ecosystem. When you purchase a spot, your listing receives permanent placement on the board.
Permanent Placement vs. Dynamic Rank: Your spot is permanent—we do not charge monthly renewal fees, recurring subscriptions, or hosting rent. However, your numerical rank on the board is dynamic and determined strictly by total cumulative spot fees relative to other listings. If another product pays to move above you, your product shifts down by one position while remaining permanently on the board and grid.
2. Currency & $4 Step Quantization
All spot fees and transactions are conducted in United States Dollars (USD). Every spot fee, top-up, and move-up increment is strictly quantized in multiples of $4. The minimum amount required to claim an open spot on the board is $4. Fractional cents or non-multiple amounts are not accepted.
3. Deterministic Ranking & Tie-Breakers
Board ranks are ordered strictly by the total cumulative amount paid. If two products have paid the exact same total amount, priority is awarded to whichever product paid first.
An existing spot cannot be displaced by an equal payment. Passing a spot requires paying at least $4 more than that spot's cumulative total.
4. Move-Up Policy (Pay the Difference Only)
Existing spot holders may improve their position at any time. When moving up, you only pay the incremental difference between your desired new spot fee and your previously paid total. All previous payments remain permanently credited to your product URL.
5. Permitted Products & Content Guidelines
WP Spots is exclusively dedicated to products and services supporting the WordPress ecosystem, including plugins, themes, managed hosting, agencies, developer tooling, and WordPress-focused SaaS.
We strictly prohibit the listing of:
- Malware, viruses, obfuscated scripts, warez, or GPL-nulled distributions.
- Phishing, deceptive affiliate cloaking, or impersonation of official brands.
- Content that violates WordPress Foundation trademark guidelines or applicable intellectual property laws.
We reserve the right to review and remove listings that violate these safety standards without refund.
6. Payment Finality & Refund Policy
Because spot allocation, public leaderboard rank, and website links are published live immediately upon transaction confirmation, all payments are final and non-refundable. Please ensure that your destination URL, category, and metadata are accurate before completing checkout.
7. Clean URL Trimming & Direct Redirection
All product URLs submitted to WP Spots are automatically cleaned. We strip extraneous marketing parameters, UTM tags, affiliate tokens, and tracking query strings upon submission to ensure clean, canonical destination links for all users.
8. URL-Based Identity & Spot Management
WP Spots operates without user accounts or passwords. Product identity is anchored to the normalized URL. Management links and receipt tokens are sent directly to the maker's verified email address upon payment confirmation.
