Terms of Service
The rules and policies governing spot allocation, listing eligibility, ranking mechanics, and community standards on the open WP Spots board.
1. Community Board & Free Listing
WP Spots operates an open visual mosaic grid and ranked discovery board for products and services in the WordPress ecosystem. Product listings on WP Spots are provided free of charge to help WordPress creators, developers, and tools gain open visibility.
2. No Guarantee of Permanence & Right to Modify
Listings Are Not Permanent: Because listings on the board are provided free of charge, spots do not constitute a permanent, perpetual, or guaranteed placement.
WP Spots expressly reserves the right to modify, change, update, or alter the board at any time. This includes, but is not limited to: modifying ranking algorithms, altering grid geometry and tile dimensions, adjusting ordering criteria, reclassifying categories, introducing new listing tiers, or removing listings that no longer comply with our standards. We reserve these rights at our sole discretion without prior notice or liability.
3. One Product = One Spot & URL Normalization
Each distinct product or service is eligible for one spot on the board. Product identity is anchored to its normalized canonical URL. Submissions for existing URLs will update the existing spot rather than creating duplicate entries.
4. Permitted Products & Content Guidelines
WP Spots is exclusively dedicated to products and services supporting the WordPress ecosystem, including plugins, themes, managed hosting, agencies, developer tooling, and WordPress-focused SaaS.
We strictly prohibit the listing of:
- Direct WhatsApp, Telegram, or chat group links (community listings must link to an official website domain).
- Spammy websites, link farms, fraudulent affiliate redirection schemes, or unverified community chat groups.
- Malware, viruses, obfuscated scripts, warez, or GPL-nulled distributions.
- Phishing, deceptive affiliate cloaking, or impersonation of official brands.
- Content that violates WordPress Foundation trademark guidelines or applicable intellectual property laws.
We reserve the absolute right to review, reject, or remove any listing that links to spammy destinations or violates these standards at any time.
5. Clean URL Trimming & Public Click Counting
All product URLs submitted to WP Spots are automatically cleaned. We strip extraneous marketing parameters, UTM tags, affiliate tokens, and tracking query strings upon submission to ensure clean destination links. Outbound links route through wpspots.com/go/[id] with public click counters.
6. Contact Information & Identity
WP Spots collects maker contact email addresses solely for spot verification, critical service updates, and listing management.
